Today’s koan is simple and more of an accounting-for and less of an exploration. Unless of course you turn it into one.
Two days ago I noted that in a single 24 hour period here in San Francisco I heard an owl and saw a bison, a crow, three seals and a sea lion, a coyote, lots of seagulls, a white heron, and of course a gaggle of dogs and cats. (Where are all the other species hiding?)
Take stock today of and write down the variety of animals you see. Does it cause any reflection?
How many animals do you see in a day?
